Mitchisonisms

Someone wrote and put this on our intranet.

Mitchisonisms
=============

I prefer knowledge independent of approaches, because I lack knowledge.

90% of the literature is crap anyway.

Oh xxxx... How is the paper going?

Fluorescein? I take that back, this is a horrible experiment.

Duplication of small GTPases is not rate limiting for evolution.

You can't build a career on cytoplasm.

It's really cute. Have you ever seen this video of Ira Herskoweitz btw, I was laughing really hard.

Ha-ha, thanks for the link, it is very funny, typical UCSF style!

People in Kirschner lab made an interesting movie for Marc's 60th birthday on 2003, very creative and enjoyable. I am trying to upload it but the file is just way too big (4.7 GB). Once it is done, I will let you know and see it... :)

Phew... finally I found a way to make it work.

I will say the UCSF culture is really long-lasting in our two labs.

However, I also heard now the UCSF is not so cool as before, no cross dressing party ......

Thanks for the cool video! It's really funny. Incidentally Kirschner is coming over to give a fancy "Mission Bay Lecture" next Tuesday, I am looking forward to see him in person. I don't think UCSF us too cool currently but I have heard that the cell biology retreats are still the most raunchy and wild... : )

Most people have difficulties to match marc's voice with his image. It is thus okay (and common) if you feel weird when you hear Marc's talk tomorrow.

The first time I met him, he looked exactly like an excellent scientist. But when he opened his mouth, it made me thought about the Dr. Evil in Austin Powers movies. I don't know why though....
